Welcome, About, Letters, Ask

Our department has a lot of meetings. None of them ever begin on time and some seem to take forever. I am a person who likes to be on time and I usually have student labs and projects scheduled after the meetings. It is extremely frustrating to be kept from doing my job by the lateness of others. What have your correspondents done when they were in this situation?

Viewers? Give us some ideas. I have left meetings that are running late, making sure that a friend will fill me in on anything else said or decided. While notes should be transcribed and distributed, I know that this does not always happen. You might want to speak privately to each meeting attendee and let them know that students will be waiting for you and you will be leaving the meeting whether or not it is over. And then do it.
