"TheatreUSF's vision is that the BRIT Program illuminate the entire Tampa campus. Since 1994, curricular partnerships with the Department of English have made use of the BRIT teaching and production program to introduce up to 3,000 freshman per year to the classical tradition."

The reciprocal program between the USF Department of English and TheatreUSF's British International Theatre Program has been an enriching one for all concerned. Our Freshman English students both study and attend the play that the BRIT Program produces each Spring. Thus, after examining a play - usually by Shakespeare - in a classroom environment, the students gain an additional learning experience by seeing the play performed on stage as the author intended. This double examination is unquestionably the most effective way to study Shakespeare, or any drama, and we are most fortunate to have had superb directors who made Shakespeare come alive for our students.
